Stone Advent Windows – 2011

After the success of Last year’s Advent Windows, where shops, pubs and restaurants in Stone unveiled a Christmas Song related window each day – a town-sized Advent Calendar – the enthusiasm for a return of this great community event was massive, with traders queuing up to be included in the 2011 Advent Windows.
This year, the Theme is Christmas Stories, with windows at each premises being opened at 11am, daily, from 1st December, to the telling of a story, portrayed in the window.
The Staffordshire Sentinel (follow this link) have published a more detailed article today, 25th November, interviewing Christ Church members Pam & David Pott who, with a team from the Church and the Town, have coordinated the window decorations, identified suitable stories from around the world and have run story-telling workshops for the volunteers who will tell these Christmas tales at the window openings.
The climax, in the tradition of an advent calendar, will be the opening of the final window, at Christ Church, Stone, on Christmas Eve, preceded by a tour of and all the windows, with story telling, and followed by soup and coffee in the Church Centre.
