A Benefice Celebration – with Rev. Paul Kingman & Family

Paul & Sue Kingman moved to Stone, with daughters Eloise & Verity, on 12th September, 2003, to start his period as Vicar of Christ Church, stone, and St. John’s Oulton with Moddershall.

On Friday 13th September, 2013, The Kingman Family were guests of honour at a ‘surprise’ party for Paul at the Church Centre at Christ Church, to celebrate and reflect on these ten years. About 120 members of the three churches gathered to express their appreciation of Paul as our vicar, the work and commitment he shows, and to thank Sue for the support she gives both to Paul and the Benefice.

The gather folks shared one of Lee Walker’s fabulous Hog Roasts, salad, etc. (and a vegetarian alternative), followed by a splendid array of home made sweets and puddings contributed by the congreations.

Once the food was demolished, Pete Mason led a few worship songs, before a tongue-in-cheek parody of “Old McDonald” where wardens, Parochial Church Councils, youth workers, and others, were assigned animal noises!

Christ Church warden, Andy Stone, reflected on a few of the highlights of the ten years Paul has been with us, thanking Paul for his vision and commitment, and Sue for her own work in the Benefice.

Paul gave a short response, thanking everyone for their support over the years, and expressing his thanks for all who arranged and attended teh celebration.

A really great time was had by all.
