Hospital Notes 38 – Calling all Carol Singers!

I am pleased to announce that Carol Singing will be taking place this year at both Royal Stoke and County Hospitals.

The format might have to be different this year to comply with any restrictions in force at the time.

ROYAL STOKE on MONDAY 12th DECEMBER

Meet at 6pm in Chaplaincy – Main Building LG2

PUT THE DATE IN YOUR DIARY NOW!

I do not know the details for COUNTY as yet but will circulate them as soon as I do.

Please support these events as patients, staff and visitors all enjoy the singing and it gives us the opportunity to focus on the importance of the real meaning of Christmas – God coming amongst and alongside us…

Recently I was struck by the enthusiasm of a patient when replying to my question about his working life. I was impressed by the varied and interesting things he’d done.

However when the opportunity arose and I asked “And how are you doing today?” immediately tears welled up and rolled down his cheeks as he outlined his fears for the future. How ready we are to speak about things which enable us to deflect from the real issues that we are facing. We talked for some time and he then welcomed prayer for an inner peace and the strength to face whatever happens with God standing alongside him…
