Children and Youth

Holiday Club Easter 2013_0010

Children and young people are important to us. On Sunday mornings we have children’s groups with age-specific teaching about Jesus. Once a month we have a Family Service when everyone is together for the whole service.

Mid week we have a Toddlers Group and three Clubs aimed at various ages of youngsters in Stone. We are also closely involved with our local schools: Christ Church FirstOulton FirstChrist Church Academy and Alleyne’s High.

PLEASE NOTE: for the most up-to-date information please contact the Church Office or read the weekly notice sheet.

Sunday Morning Services

For babies and toddlers (0-2) we have a crèche area at the back of church equipped with toys, puzzles and books.  Carers and children are welcome to sit here as needed during the service.  Alternatively, the central room of the church centre normally has toys laid out so that your child can play while you can listen to the service (the sound is played over the speakers).  This room is particularly useful if you need some privacy or your children are being extra noisy!

Older children (3-11) have various Sunday groups during the service.  Children begin the service together with adults, then leave for their groups after the children’s song.  In their groups they will be taught the Bible in a fun and safe environment.  They will be brought back into the church at the end of the service or, when there is communion, before the communion liturgy begins.

Term-time Groups

Toddler Group (Mondays)

A Parents (or Grandparents or Carers) and Toddler group meets in the church centre every Monday of term-time, from 9.30 – 11.30am.  There are toys, baby corner, crafts and biscuits for the children. Tea, coffee and chat for grown ups. We join together at the end for a time of singing with musical instruments.

Cost: £2.00 per family.

Schools

Christ Church has two church schools: Christ Church First School and Christ Church Academy  We also have close links with Oulton First School since Oulton-with-Moddershall is part of the same benefice as Christ Church.

Most weeks the Vicar or Youth Worker takes an assembly in these three schools.  The Middle School also has a Christian lunchtime club called ‘Pursuit Club’ which meets on Tuesdays.
