As an initial pastoral response, we are opening Christ Church, Stone at the following times for you to visit, pray and reflect. There will be stewards on hand to pray with those who would appreciate support at this time:
Friday 9th September:
The church building will be open for you to come for prayer and quiet reflection from 12.00 to 2.00 p.m.
Sunday 11th September:
9.15 a.m. A morning service acknowledging the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. The Church building will be open for further prayer and quiet reflection.
Any further special opening times will be advertised through our social media on Face Book and Twitter.
Designated Churches in Staffordshire for Books of Condolence:
The Diocese of Lichfield has a restricted number of locations for official books of condolence located in the following churches in the Diocese:
• Lichfield Cathedral
• St Mary’s Church, Stafford.
• St Modwen’s Church, Burton upon Trent.
• St Luke’s Church, Cannock.
• St Michael and St Wulfad’s Church, Stone
• St Editha’s Church, Tamworth.
Any floral tributes may be placed at St Michael and St Wulfad’s Church, Stone which is also the designated church for a Book of Condolence for signing as mentioned above.
